XenApp 6.5 Installation Fails When Creating a New Farm with New Database

Symptom.
 The following error appears when configuring XenApp 6.5 server when creating a new farm with new database:




 


Resolution

To resolve this issue, complete the following steps:

Open the XenApp installation DVD from the Support folder and install SQL Express manually.
Open Services from Administrative Tools > Control Panel.
Start all SQL-related services.

Create a new MF20.DSN file pointing to the database sequence installed locally on that server.
Open the XenApp Server configuration Wizard from XenApp Role Manager.
Create a new farm and select an existing database instead of new database then point to the instance of SQL Express installed locally on the server.
